Review and verification of heavy-lift equipment design and procedures for erecting the sheaves and the 700 ton counterweights on this lift bridge. Development of preliminary schemes for transporting the sheaves and counterweights to their points of lifting.

Years ago, heavy lifting technology was developed from post-tensioning components. Strand based heavy lifting has found numerous applications in the construction and erection of a wide variety of structures such as bridges, chimneys, vessels and all types of large equipment. Strand lifting provides extraordinary redundancy in the main tension elements, as each strand contains seven wires and each lifting cable contains numerous strands.
